Free courses for the unemployed

JobSkills@BMet have an incredible 35 courses available to help unemployed people to develop new skills, gain an accredited qualification and move into employment.

Please see below confirmation of the courses available for anyone aged 19 and over (before 31st August 2018) and in receipt of JSA, ESA or Universal Credit.

Basic Skills training:

  • ESOL Speaking and Listening
  • Basic I.T. Skills for Job Searching
  • Microsoft Office Skills Level 1 (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Digital Upskilling Course (Universal Credit training, Using Social Media for JobSearch)
  • English for Work (Entry Level 2 to Level 2)
  • Maths for Work (Entry Level 2 to Level 2)

Classroom based Skills training with accredited qualification:

  • Retail Knowledge Level 1
  • Cleaning Skills Level 1
  • Health and Social Care Level 1
  • Business Administration Level 1
