Ablewell Advice Service provides free, independent, impartial and confidential advice services to residents of Walsall.
Our Philosophy:-

We provide specialist advice in relation to Debts and Welfare Benefits including Income, Health and Housing Benefits, and representation for Social Security Tribunal hearings.
We are members of AdviceUK.
Advice UK is the UK’s largest support network for free, independent advice centres.
Scope of Service:
- Income maximisation by confirming entitlement to benefits
- Providing budgeting skills training
- Free to client debt management
- Provision of Insolvency methods (subject to fees being met by client)
- Assistance for possession activity, bankruptcy support etc.
- Form Filling
- Utility checking and saving
- Computer suite with 6 IT stations available for client use
- help creating CVs
- help with universal job match
We are open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9.30 until 3.30.
We are also a distribution centre for The Black Country Foodbank on Mondays & Fridays between 11 and 12

Overview
Ablewell Advice Service is an initiative of the Central Hall Methodist Church in Walsall in the West Midlands. Central Hall is a registered charity.
We receive most of our funding from charitable trusts and foundations, including the church and individuals.
We provide specialist advice in relation to Debts and Welfare Benefits including Income, Health and Housing Benefits, and representation for Social Security Tribunal hearings.
We may be able to see clients outside our normal area and welcome referrals from other agencies, churches and partners.

What we do
Debt Advice
At Ablewell Advice Services, we specialise in managing problem debt. Whether it’s what to expect when you can’t afford to pay your debts, creating a personal budget, or practical solutions for dealing with your debt, you’ll find all the answers you need right here.
Our Debt advice initial interview takes just 1 hour to complete and will help you find a solution to your debt problem that is tailored to your circumstances. It’s totally confidential and free of charge
Benefit Advice
Our Benefits Maximisation Service can provide advice, guidance and assistance with the full range of welfare benefits. We offer a detailed benefit check to see whether you are entitled to any additional benefits, and whether any existing benefits are being paid at the correct rate.
We can also:
Help you to make a claim for any new or increased benefits - including backdating claims.
Help you challenge decisions to stop benefits - including help with overpayments.
Represent you at appeal tribunals.
Where we cannot help you we will refer you to an appropriate local specialist agency or department
Where we do it
We provide a specialist advice and advocacy service for people living within the Walsall Area. As we are a registered charity, we never charge for the work that we do for you
