We can offer you dedicated 1-1 support that’s tailored to your personal recovery journey. You’ll also get access to a diverse range of group sessions which focus around the following key areas;
- Meaningful activities and creativity

We are also proud to offer a wide range of service user involvement opportunities. We hold regular member forums and consultations to ensure our service is meeting the needs of the community.

What we do
Users of Birmingham Hub & Spoke will be allocated a Support, Time and Recovery (STR) Worker who will work together with the user to make meaningful progress in recovery. Creative Support use a range of holistic and person-centered tools and processes with proven effectiveness for supporting people in mental health services. Tools such as the Recovery Circle, based on the ’12 Points of Wellness’, enable users to identify areas of their life in which they most need to make progress to support their recovery, such as;
- Managing mental health symptoms
- Self-care and physical health
- Improving daily living skills
- Progressing into education, training or employment
- Improving relationships and social networks
- Becoming involved with the local community
- Optimism for the future
- Personal safety
- Confidence, self-esteem and personal identity
For service users with support needs beyond what we are able to offer as a service, such as housing or support with addictive behaviours, we work closely with specialist organisations to ensure all identified support needs are met.
The length of one-to-one support available at Birmingham Hub & Spoke is tailored to the needs of the service user and can continue for a maximum of two years. Moving on from the service is planned with the service user to ensure that they continue to make progress in their recovery independently in the community.
The majority of our group activities take place within the Hubs, however several of our social support groups take place in various community based locations. Our activity timetable is updated every 3 months and developed in consultation with our service users. Service users are referred into activity groups based on identified goals in their support plan.
Our activity groups fall into four key categories;
- Managing mental health and self-help
- Developing and improving life skills
- Improving physical health and wellbeing
- Meaningful and creative activities
