Organisation: Innovating Minds CIC
Innovating Minds CIC
A social enterprise that is passionate about providing accessible psychological support for children and young people in education, training and employment to foster emotional wellbeing and resiliency.
We provide accessible psychological support and work from an early intervention ethos to ensure young people are able to access the support when they want it, not when they need it.
Our 'Healing Together Programme' is based on nurturing Young Witnesses of Domestic Abuse
This is a 9 week group programme for children who have witnessed domestic abuse, and are no longer living with the perpetrator. It is unique in its approach using a combination of psycho-education, trauma focused cognitive behaviour therapy and person–centered therapeutic principles. The overall aims of the programmes are to help children come to terms with their experiences, build confidence, self-esteem, make sense of the difficult emotions they may be feeling, and to develop positive lifestyle and coping strategies. Parents and children will take part in separate group sessions.
The parent group will be facilitated by Birmingham Freedom Project charity. It will be a great opportunity for healing together through activities, education and peer support.
