Murray Hall Community Trust

Established in 1994, we are one of the leading health and wellbeing charities in the Black Country and Birmingham and specifically Sandwell. Murray Hall Community Trust (MHCT) is a voluntary organisation and registered charity, managed by a Board of Trustees from the local community.

MHCT Charity is committed to increasing the health, wellbeing and resilience of local people across the West Midlands, including those with additional and multiple needs and young people with life threatening conditions. We have been supporting some of our most vulnerable communities including children and young people (CYP) for over 20 years.

Murray Hall Community Trust (MHCT) has a proven track record of successfully understanding and engaging vulnerable and ‘at risk’ children and young people (CYP), including those with additional/multiple needs, those who are hard to engage and young people with life threatening life conditions.

MHCT provide excellent Family Support Services which dovetail with the Early Help Strategy. All our staff take a ‘solution focussed’ approach to promoting resilience. We support families going through a range of issues actively encouraging them to process the emotional impact and enabling them to develop support networks. This strengthens the families’ resilience and helps them access appropriate services.

For a range of our current services please see below pathways.

We also offer a range of training packages for professionals - please contact us for further details

What we do

We support families going through a range of issues actively encouraging them to process the emotional impact and enabling them to develop support networks. This strengthens the families’ resilience and helps them access appropriate services.

Our current range of services include:

The Bridge – a purposefully refurbished building with dedicated space to become a community hub of activities to support young people and their families. The Bridge’s primary service is to offer a range of support services for children and young people with life limiting conditions. The building is fully adapted and includes a sensory room, relaxation room and a fully adapted bathroom. The Bridge is a community hub of activities which support young people and their families and offers relaxation therapies, training and social events.

Breaking Silence – a self-referral programme designed to work with young people aged 7 – 18 years with complex emotional wellbeing issues who are self-harming to receive targeted one to one intervention. The service also provides workshops to families and professionals to reduce the stigma of self-harm for young people.

Head2Head Therapies is a school based provision providing an independent confidential Counselling and Creative Arts Therapy Service. It is a bespoke service designed around the needs of the schools and endeavours to support children and young people with a range of emotional issues, in order to develop their resilience so they can go on to become active members of the community.

Looking Forward - a service which seeks to improve the emotional resilience of vulnerable families (at risk of poor mental health) who fall below the threshold of mental health statutory services. The service seeks to improve the wellbeing of children and young people who have a history of domestic violence and abuse, separation and loss. Looking Forward is currently working within a school around domestic abuse and controlling behaviours by offering early intervention and support.

Children’s Centres – MHCT currently lead on the Tipton Cluster of Children’s Centres in its own right and the Rowley cluster of Children’s Centres on behalf of the Healthy Living Consortium, both have received “Good” Ofsted judgements.
