The National Careers Service provides information, advice and guidance across England to help you make decisions on learning, training and work opportunities. The service offers confidential and impartial advice. This is supported by qualified careers advisers.

What we do

We know that everyone has the ability and potential to develop and grow in their lives and careers. We also understand that sometimes things get in the way and can hold you back.

The National Careers Service website aims to:

  • help you with careers decisions and planning
  • support you in reviewing your skills and abilities and develop new goals
  • motivate you to implement your plan of action
  • enable you to make the best use of high quality career related tools.

Phone an adviser
Call 0800 100 900 to speak to an adviser. Calls are free from landlines and most mobile numbers. Or you can tell us your landline or mobile number and we'll call you back - for free. Lines are open 8am to 10pm, seven days a week.

Get face-to-face advice
Call 0800 100 900 to make an appointment with an adviser at your nearest National Careers Service office.

Text us
You can send us a text for simple information like telephone numbers or addresses. If you want more in-depth information and advice, ring us on 0800 100 900. If you tell the adviser your phone number we will call you back at a time that's convenient for you. Please don't send us pictures as we can't open these. The number to text us on is 07766 413219.
