A Fully Funded August 2019 Summer Holiday Project For Young People Aged 8 17yrs
Added: 04 July 2019
Voice Against Crime CIC, a Birmingham based not-for-profit community interest organisation has been commissioned by the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner, to deliver a Children & Young People (CYP) project in an attempt to help tackle the rise in serious youth violence across the City, by providing them with the tools to become active citizens.
The project will commence Monday 19th August - Friday 23rd August 2019, from 9.30am – 4.30pm daily. It is based at Holte Secondary School, Wheelers Street, Lozells, Birmingham, B19 2EP.
We are looking to recruit approximately 40 young people aged between 8 to 17 years, who live within the City of Birmingham. Therefore places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Although this is a fully inclusive project we particularly want to include young people who fall into at least one of the following categories:
- Young people who live in areas associated with gang behaviour
- Young people whose parents/guardians are concerned about them being at risk of grooming; carrying weapons or being affiliated with older youths and/or gang members
- Young people on the border of exclusion from school
- Young people with poor school/college attendance
- Young people from single parent households
- Young people from low income households
This is a fantastic opportunity so if you know of any young people within your school or organisation who would be suitable for our project please contact us direct ASAP to reserve a place by emailing: voiceagainstcrimeuk@gmail.com. If you need to speak to the project co-ordinators, call: 07722 186 360 | 07957 884 377.
