A confidential and anonymous helpline for anyone concerned about their violence and/or abuse towards a partner or ex-partner.

We are a team of skilled professionals offering advice, information and support to domestic violence perpetrators, as well as to their (ex) partners and frontline workers. We are a helpline and email service.

The service is run and managed by Respect.

Our key focus is to increase the safety of those experiencing domestic violence through promoting effective interventions with perpetrators

What we do

Help and advice for domestic violence perpetrators

We offer information and advice to help domestic violence perpetrators stop their violence and change their abusive behaviours.

The main focus of the Respect Phoneline is to increase the safety of those experiencing domestic violence by engaging with the abusers to reduce the risk.

Men abusing their female (ex) partners

Men abusing their male (ex) partners

Women abusing their (ex) partners

Frontline workers and domestic violence perpetrators

Domestic violence victims looking for help on behalf of their abusive partner - concerned friends and family of abusers

How to access

The Respect Phoneline is available on freephone

0808 802 4040

(free from landlines and from mobile phones using the O2, Orange, T Mobile, Three (3), EE, Virgin and Vodafone networks)

Some other mobile networks also offer free calls to numbers with the 0808 80xx prefix, however these are not guaranteed and users are recommended to check with their provider.

Monday - Friday 9am-5pm

A voicemail service is available: we aim to return calls within two working days. We aim to reply to emails within two working days. We aim to speak to at least 50% of all callers aiming to access the Respect Phoneline every month.
