What we do
If you’re unemployed and want to start or get back into work, Steps to Work can help you prepare for work and make the most of your skills and abilities. We understand that you might need support to find a job and overcome any barriers so we offer a variety of services tailored to your individual needs.
The services we offer include:
- Information, advice and guidance on careers and skills
- Training to help with things like confidence building and motivation
- CV writing support and guidance
- Job search support
- Support with interview preparation
- Public internet access for job search and training activities
- Information advice and guidance on training and education opportunities
- Support to develop new skills

The BRIDGES Project
The Bridges project aims to support a variety of projects Black country wide ranging from those improving employability for the most disadvantaged, helping those with multiple and complex needs, to improving financial literacy and basic 1-to-1 support.
This project is funded by Big Lottery Fund and the European Union through European Social Fund
BRIDGES can support anyone who is:
- 25 years and over
- Unemployed (cannot be in part time work or on 0 hours contract)
- Economically Inactive (including those not working who are claiming benefits)
- Has complex needs/multiple barriers which are impacting on being able to enter paid employment
- Requires support to fully and independently engage in existing services
Where we do it
Our services are available for people Black Country-wide. Our head office is in the centre of Walsall and we have a network of one stop employment shops across the borough. Our BRIDGES project covers the whole of the Black Country with our delivery staff spending time in various locations across the West Midlands to deliver information, advice and guidance to participants.
