The Sharan Project
The Sharan Project is a national registered charity supporting South Asian women who have been or are risk of being disowned due to abuse or persecution: to include forced marriage, honour abuse, domestic violence, dowry conflict and other forms of harmful practices.
Established in 2008, The Sharan Project works to empower women who are actively seeking support towards successful independent living.

What we do
- Client Support: risk assessments, safeguarding and action plans, referrals and signposting to appropriate services
- Professionals: training, workshops, advice, court expert (HBA/FM), policy development, referrals
- Projects & Campaigns: lead partner of Our Girl - a national forced marriage prevention and awareness campaign, outreach to include talks, assemblies, workshops and safeguarding in schools, colleges and universities
- Partnership Working: multi agency approach to raise awareness, safeguard victims and survivors and prevent harmful practices
